This was designed and painted for a baby girl's bedroom. The only requirement I was given, was that it should feature peonies and the wall should remain white.

Inspired by Georgette Chen's lotus paintings, especially, Lotus in a breeze, 1970, I was struck by her poetic depiction of the vitality, strength and elegance of the lotus flowers.

Since the room had large windows on the right of the wall, this mural was designed with this natural light source in mind.
